Who We Are

ROSCAN SANCTUM , NPO 267-493, TOUWSRIVIER, KAROO.

Founded in 1999 by Rosemary and Duncan Briggs, Roscan Sanctum, a registered non-profit organisation, has grown into a small, self-sustaining, all-volunteer village on a 48ha farm in the Karoo. They dedicate themselves to uplifting the lives of neglected humans and animals. People off the street or from a destitute situation as well as injured, old, deaf, or orphaned animals in and around the Western Cape have a home at Roscan Sanctum. Roscan Sanctum endeavours to be self-funding and self-sustaining. The farm is completely off the grid with no municipal services, water, or electricity – all services are self-supplied. They supplement income by making furniture, farm products, undertaking building projects, and other income- generating opportunities.
A place called home.

Who We Are

Founded by Rosemary Briggs in 1999, Roscan Dog Sanctum is a dedicated organization in providing care for the neglected animals.

For nearly a decade, people living in poverty have raised their voices and demanded that the government take over in lending a helping hand. This, however, was not the case. With hundreds and thousands of animals starving, tortured and left for dead without proper food. Rosemary decided to raise awareness and help out where she can.
